Direct Aid Program: Application Form
The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a small-grants scheme which aims to alleviate humanitarian hardship, with a particular focus on addressing the needs of women, children, and other disadvantaged groups. Examples of areas where grants may be given include: community health, schools/education, small scale infrastructure, rural development and the environment. In the past the Embassy has funded women’s literacy projects, vocational training programs for disadvantaged youth, and antenatacal care clinics.
DAP is available to individuals, community groups and NGOs engaged in development activities on a not-for-profit basis. Grants generally range from A$3000 to A$10,000 (approximately 13,500 to 45,000LE) although larger applications may be considered.
Please note that DAP funding cannot be used for: routine administrative expenses and running costs of the facilitating organisation eg. staff salaries; office rental and utility costs; micro-credit schemes; commercial ventures; promotional events.
DAP funds must be fully expended within twelve months, and preferably within the financial year of receipt.
Should you be successfully in your application for DAP funding you will be required to keep full financial records of all expenditure; submit a progress report not more than six months after receiving your funding; and submit a full financial report on completion of the project.
